Treating Low T Levels
Low T is also known as Andropause or Hypogonadism. You have seen the commercials on TV talking about Low T. What exactly does it mean when one asks, Is It Low T?The term Is It Low T? refers to a man's version of menopause, known as Andropause and is characterized by lower than normal sex hormone levels. The clinical term used by physicians for Andropause, is Hypogonadism because the gonads no longer produce sufficient levels of testosterone. Hypogonadism is a male health condition caused by lower than normal testosterone levels. If you have Low T, then you are experiencing symptoms caused by low testosterone levels and can get treatment to boost your T levels back up into the normal range. Increasing your low testosterone levels will help alleviate your hormone health symptoms and get you back to feeling like your old self.
TRT or Testosterone Replacement can have a positive affect on a man with low T levels. When on Testosterone, men report a surge in sexual desire, frequency of love making, harder erections, enhanced sensation and performance. They are able to work out again and recover more quickly after their exercise routines. They are better able to build muscle mass, feel stronger and look better. They are able to trim their waists as testosterone helps properly distribute fat and makes it easier to lose weight. Men's mood improves, they sleep better at night, have more energy and stamina, and their edge at work and in relationships is restored.

Normal Levels of Testosterone in Men
What are normal testosterone levels in men?
Just like your cholesterol level or blood pressure, there is a numerical range of testosterone levels (also known as T levels) that are considered normal. Laboratories that conduct hormone blood testing have a reference level of between 300ng/dL and 1,200 ng/dL, some others Endocrine professionals consider 270 to 1070 ng/dL to be the normal range. Ultimately, the level that is optimal for a man is more important than what a lab consider normal The pituitary gland in the brain and the testicles work together to keep testosterone within this normal range. When levels of testosterone are below normal, the brain signals the testicles to make more. When testosterone levels reach a normal level, the brain signals the testicles to make less. read more about normal and optimal male sex hormone levels - What is the normal testosterone level?

How does Testosterone get so Low
Beyond a natural decline of 1% per year after the of age of 30, men's production of Luteinizing Hormone (LH) which in turn stimulates testosterone also decreases with aging, which lowers testosterone production. Moreover, a protein that binds up and holds onto testosterone called sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG) increases in older men. These factors together reduce the amount of free (unbound) testosterone in a man's blood that is available to tissues such as muscles, and to organs like the penis.
Some of the symptoms of low testosterone are decreased sex drive or libido, no or poor erections, lowered sperm count, sudden gain in weight, soft muscles and increased breast size to name a few. Some men with low testosterone have hot flashes, increased irritability, inability to concentrate and depression. Men with severely low testosterone may lose body hair and muscle mass. Their bones may be more prone to fracture. Their testes may become smaller and softer.
