What Is Caverject ® Impulse?

Caverject ® is a prescription form of erectile injection prescribed for men with symptoms of impotence. Made by Pfizer, this popular ED drug medication is sold in a convenient inector pen kit called Caverject Impulse®. It is used to treat men with ED or Erectile Dysfunction, hypogonadism, Andropause or low testosterone. Caverject ® is made up of an injectable compound that includes a combination of three injections in a single dose - Phentolamine Mesylate, Papaverine Hydrochloride and Prostaglandin E1 for injection. Caverject ® Therapy is also known as Triple P and is very effective as an intercavernosal injection for erectile dysfunction. The therapy uses three vasoactive agents, papaverine, phentolamine, and prostaglandin E1 (PGE1 alprostadil), also used in Muse®, Edex®, Viridal®. This combination of androgens is common in testosterone replacement therapy, but this particular form of it is specifically formulated to treat impotence. Caverject ® is approved by the FDA and is an innovative solution featuring a long-acting androgen steroid shot to address erectile dysfunction issues in men of all ages.

Why use Caverject ® Injections for Erectile Dyfunction Therapy?

Caverject ® is a great erectile solution when oral impotence treatment pills like Viagra, Cialis and Levitra are no longer effective treatment options. Caverject ® can be prescribed along with other androgen treatment on the market for use with other testosterone replacement therapy options, as it offers new and exciting possibilities when it comes to combining therapies to effectively treat erectile dysfunction. Most testosterone injection compounds require at least one, if not several, injections per week like Caverject ®. Similar to the P-Shot® or Priapus injection, the Caverject ® compound is taken by injection directly into the penile shaft resulting in an erection, and with the ability for the man to have more erections for up to 24 hours. ED physicians and Urologists usually prescribe Caverject ® for ED symptoms in 3 weekly injections. An autoinjector pen and gel solution is also available.

How to Use Caverject ® as a TRT Treatment

Caverject ® must be prescribed and either self-administered or administered by a trained healthcare professional in a licensed medical clinic or office. You must have a prescription from your doctor in order to buy and use Caverject ®. A testosterone blood test and physical examination will assist your physician with providing a proper diagnoses and formulation of an effective androgen treatment program. You will receive a single shot in your buttock. Because of certain risks associated with Caverject ® (namely POME and anaphylaxis), you will need to remain at the clinic after you receive your shot to be sure you have no serious reactions to the injection. Caverject ® is indicated for testosterone replacement therapy in adult males for conditions associated with a deficiency or absence of endogenous testosterone.

Caverject ® Therapy Instructions

  • Second Injection if needed up to 2.5 mcg

How Caverject ® works?

The three P's in Caverject ® ED Injections help create an erection by relaxing the smooth muscles and widening the blood vessels in the penis. Caverject ® Injections using a combination of the three erectile injections in a single dose should begin to work within 5-20 minutes, and its effects should last about 30 minutes to an 1 hour or two. Most men should be able to naturally have an erection for about 24 hours after Caverject ® administration. The different erectile products are available separately in lower strengths than that found in the Caverject ® Injection. For most men, using .5cc of Caverject ® should give good results and in many cases the erection may last too long well or in excess of 2 hours and the dosage to may then be dropped to .45 cc or lower.

Caverject is and Alprostadil Injection. Alprostadil Injection is a prostaglandin (PGE-1). It works by relaxing certain muscles in the penis and widening blood vessels, which increases blood flow to the penis and helps to cause an erection. When the effect of the alprostadil wears off, blood flow returns to normal and the erection disappears. Phentolamine shots are given by injection causing penile blood vessels to expand increasing blood flow. When injected into the penis intracavernosally, it increases blood flow to the penis resulting in an erection. Papaverine is a penile vasodilator that relaxes smooth muscles in your blood vessels to help them dilate or widen. This lowers blood pressure and allows blood to flow more easily through your penile veins and arteries. Papaverine is used to treat many conditions such as erectile dysfunction in men and health conditions that cause spasm of smooth muscle.

Using Caverject Erectile Medication

Risks & Possible Side Effects of Caverject ®

Caverject ® has been reported to be safe and effective. For over two decades it has been prescibed for men with impotence, and Caverject ® self-injection therapy has proven to be both safe and effective. It is considered the best second-line drug therapy for the management of erectile dysfunction by Urologists, ED Physicians and Endocrinologists. However as with all prescription medications there are risks and side effects. Fibrotic reactions with intracavernous injection therapy have been observed. A variety of reactions, ranging from subcutaneous nodules, intracavernosal fibrotic areas, penile plaques, lumps, swelling, tenderness, or curving have been reported. For this reason, routine clinical follow-ups are used to help identify fibrosis or new fibrosis, and PGE1 causes less fibrosis than the other drugs used for ED. Any penile nodules, lumps or swelling that occur with Caverject ® injection therapy disappear within a few months of stopping.

The 3 vasoactive agents commonly used alone or in combination are papaverine, phentolamine, and prostaglandin E1 (PGE1 alprostadil). Some men have sensitivities which could cause penile pain, headaches, dizziness, bruising at the injections site, and prolonged erections. The ED product should not be used by men with anatomical deformation of the penis or with penile implants.

How to Inject Caverject ®

  • If you have aTrimix Pen Autoinjector like Caverject® Impulse from Pfizer, a premeasured does will be able to be set and easily injected.
  • For those with a traditional vial, place your Caverject ® medication vial, syringes, and alcohol swabs on a clean surface.
  • Wash hands with soap and water. Wipe the top of the vial with the alcohol swab.
  • Remove the syringe from its package, attach the needle and pull off the cap.
  • Pull on the plunger until an amount of air is in the syringe equal to the amount of medication you will be injecting. Insert the needle into the rubber stopper at the top of the vial and push in the air.
  • Turn the vial and syringe upside down and draw up the recommended dosage into the syringe. Tap the syringe gently and push gently on the plunger to remove air bubbles.
  • Sitting upright, hold the head of your penis stretching it lengthwise. Inject the medication into the corpora cavernosa which is the spongy tissue on the sides at the base of your penis. Some men massage the area for a few seconds after injection.
  • Clean the injection site with a fresh alcohol swab.

Is it ED or Low T?

Men with low testosterone can also have symptoms of Erectile Dysfunction

Take the Low T Symptoms Test. A fast simple blood test is all you need to find out if low testosterone levels are responsible for your symptoms. Low T in middle-aged men has been linked to serious age-related health risks including cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, obesity, low libido, erectile dysfunction, and even an increase in death. Many times Alprostadil is used to test for impotence and if you are found to need ED therapy, Caverject ® or BiMix erectile therapy may be right for you.

Testosterone in men is responsible for a healthy sex drive and strong muscles, bone density, physical strength and mental acuity, metabolism and fat distribution, sperm and red blood cell production. By your 30's, your testosterone levels have already started to decline by 1-2% per year and by your 40's and 50's low testosterone symptoms will begin to appear.

Many men are reluctant to talk about having Low T with their spouse, friends or even their family doctor. Testosterone therapy can help and slowly the stigma associated with low testosterone levels and male sexual performance problems caused by impotence and erectile dysfunction are becoming progressively less as the population ages and hormonal deficiency and imbalance become a more common occurance.

Since every male will experience low testosterone levels at some point in his life, it makes sense to explore possible treatment options and discuss symptoms with a male hormone specialist. In the US, it is estimated that 4 to 5 million American men may be suffering from low testosterone levels.

You might have been searching for 'low t', 'low testosterone' or 'low t therapy' online because you've heard about testosterone therapy, saw the Low T commercial or testosterone replacement on TV talk shows, in a magazine or through a friend. The topic of low t is no longer something to hide from and if you thik you may have low t symptoms, then make a call and find out abut it.

Do You Suffer From Low Testosterone Levels (LOW T)?

Ask yourself:

  • Are you feeling less enthusiastic about life?
  • Is your libido low and sex drive non-existent?
  • Do you have trouble achieving or maintaining an erection?
  • Are you irritable, moody or feeling depressed?
  • Do you lack energy, stamina or endurance?
  • Are you more tired than usual, feeling fatigued?
  • Have you put on weight, especially around your mid-section?

If you answered Yes to any of the above questions, (LOW T) - low testosterone levels may be to blame. You may be experiencing andropause (hypogonadism), the male version of menopause. During andropause, men experience a deficiency in testosterone, however, some men experience a faster decline resulting in a lower level sooner. The testosterone deficiency causing adverse health conditions is known as Low Testosterone or Low T.

Symptoms associated with Low T are in addition to the normal signs of aging. Low T is completely treatable, reversible and even preventable with proper hormone replacment, nutrition and exercise. Many times testosterone treatment injections are combined with HGH Injectons for a more comprehensive treatment plan.

Soft or weak erections as well as premature ejaculations are also evident in male sexual dysfunction. A testosterone deficiency can cause libido and sexual desire to decline to such a low level that a man no longer desires intimacy or to engage in sex at all. Men who experience these symptoms should have their hormone levels checked to rule our hormone deficiency as the cause. Read more about low hormone levels in detail. Types of Testosterone Therapy - Low T and Impotence Treatment Options

Increase Low Testosterone Levels with Male Hormone Replacement

When male enhancement pills and other oral medications no longer work to effectively treat impotence or erectile dysfunction, your Endocrinologist or Urologist may suggest Male Hormone Replacement Therapy if your ED is being caused by lower than normal levels of testosterone or Low T. The most common types of Testosterone Hormone Replacement Therapy are injections, creams, gels and patches.

When properly prescribed by an experienced Age Management Physician, Endocrinologist or Urologist, these Low Testosterone Treatment Options will address the signs and symptoms of low testosterone in males including extreme fatigue, depression, lack of sex drive, soft erections, loss of muscle mass, belly fat and weight gain. A decrease in testosterone production is a very common experience in men over the age of 30, but with male hormone testosterone replacement available, it is not something that you need to suffer from for the rest of your life. There are many hormone treatments available for boosting low testosterone levels in men as well as in women who currently suffer from symptoms such as loss of sex drive, loss of sexual dysfunction (ED) Erectile Dysfunction, extreme fatigue, rapid weight gain, loss of muscle tone, mood swings, insomnia and depression.

If you are prescribed testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), you may notice a difference after the first or second week of low testosterone therapy. Most men report a dramatic increase in their sexual desire, frequency and quality of sex, ability to build hard, strong muscle and to recover more quickly from exercise and workouts, visible weight loss, a better mood and better night's sleep. Importantly, men feel more confident and a sense of purpose and drive which can positively impact their personal and professional work relationships.

Overview of Impotence Treatments

Brief Discussion of Testosterone Treatment for Impotence or ED

Testosterone Injections for Male Impotence Treatment

One of the most common types of treatments is testosterone injections, either cypionate, enanthate or propionate - which is injected into a muscle usually once or twice weekly, or even monthly. You can give yourself these shots or have them done by your hormone physician. Injections are one of the most effective ways of replacing your testosterone. You must follow your testosterone doctor's protocol in order to avoid side effects. Testosterone replacement therapy effects the natural production of testosterone in your body and you will need to take testosterone stimulating medications and go through a post treatment regimen in order to restart your own natural testosterone production again. This will usually be accomplished through the use of HCG injections. An estrogen inhibitor or blocker such as Armidex® (Anastrozole), Tamoxifen (Nolvadex®), or Clomid® (Clomiphene Citrate) is normally prescribed to ensure excess estrogen does not build up in your body during testosterone therapy. Although easily managed, Low T treatment can lead to highs and lows in your body's testosterone levels as it peaks shortly after each injection and slowly declines until the next one since your body is producing little to no testosterone on it's own. This form of testosterone treatment requires a licensed doctor's prescription.

Testosterone Creams and Testosterone Gels

Testosterone creams and gels are applied topically. These creams and gels can be effective, are pain free and no needles or implant incisions are required. The main disadvantage to using creams or gels is that you can transfer the testosterone to other people via skin to skin contact and cause what is known a s virilization. Most testosterone creams and gels require a licensed doctor's prescription.

Testosterone Pellets for ED Therapy

Testosterone pellets are placed under the skin usually in the buttocks and testosterone is released gradually into the body in a steady manner over a 3 to 5 month period. These pellets dissolve evenly without the highs and lows of the injections. Unfortunately, an incision has to be made in your skin in which to place the pellets, this is usually done every three to six months. Some of the pellet solution side effects have been an average extraction rate of 8% - 12%, minor bleeding and infection at the implant site. This treatment also requires a doctor's office visit for implantation and prescription.

Testosterone Patches for ED Ed Therapy

Testosterone patches are placed on the skin usually on the abdomen, thigh or scrotum and testosterone is released gradually into the body. Some men find the absorption rate to be rather weak and side effects such as rash and itchiness are common with testosterone patches. One of the first types of testosterone treatment many men initially try, is the testosterone patch because of convenience. And though they are convenient and require no injection, you need keep replacing it and a rash may form making it very uncomfortable. If you decide to try the patches, your hormone physician will let you know how many patches to wear and the cost of this type of testosterone treatment. If you start to have side-effects from the patch like skin irritation, don't hesitate to let your doctor know. With any of the Low T replacement therapies, there are advantages and disadvantages. Discuss these thoroughly with your hormone therapy doctor.

Natural Impotence Treatment and Testosterone Boosters

Using natural testosterone boosters are the safest way to treat low testosterone. Instead of introducing artificial testosterone into your body, natural ingredients like Yohimbe, Zinc, L-Arginie, Tribulus Terrestris, Horny Goat Weed, Ginseng, Nettles, Saw Palmetto and many others have been shown to marginally increase your body's natural production of testosterone without a prescription drug. This eliminates the unwanted side effects of highs and lows and does not inhibit your body's natural production of testosterone. However, most men who have Low T or a genuine Testosterone deficiency will require other forms of low testosterone replacement in order to increase their levels back up into the normal range. For men with normal testosterone levels, natural testosterone supplements do not stop or slow down their own testosterone production. The natural ingredients used in natural testosterone boosters can be effective for these men.

Low Testosterone: Hypogonadism - Andropause

Middle aged and aging men are confronted with symptoms of hypogonadism and impotence or ED (Erectile Dysfunction). If you are suffering from Low T, then you should speak with a hormone specialist to see if (TRT) Testosterone Replacement Therapy may be right for you.

Most men become concerned when low testosterone impacts their sex life. A decline in your sex drive is one of the symptoms that reflect a decline in testosterone. A natural and gradual decline in your testosterone levels is normal as you age and at some point symptoms will occur. Some health conditions, heart medications and obesity can also cause low testosterone levels. A hormone blood test can tell you if you have low t levels.

When your body doesn't produce enough testosterone, it's called hypogonadism or Low T. It occurs during the period of a man's life known as Andropause. Symptoms include:

  • Soft Erections
  • Extreme Fatigue
  • Excessive Weight
  • Sadness & Depression
  • Trouble Sleeping
  • Trouble Focusing & Concentrating
  • Hot Flashes and Night Sweats
  • Flabby Muscles and Weak bones

Testosterone is responsible for male characteristics, a significant decrease can cause:

  • Erectile dysfunction (ED)
  • Less facial and body hair
  • Growth of breast tissue and body fat
  • Infertility and poor quality of sperm
  • Decreased muscle mass and bone mass

Advantages of Taking Testosterone Therapy for Impotence

Low Testosterone Treatment can save your Relationships & Marriage

Middle Aged Men have Low Testosterone Levels. As you get older, it is only natural for your testosterone level to decrease. With this decrease you may have the desire to have sex but because of softer erections or the inability to maintain an erection - you are unable to do so. You may have lost this ability because of your low level of testosterone. You can get tested and find out if you have Low T and seek out the many different treatments that low testoserone therapy comprises as discussed above for taking care of low levels of testosterone. To restore your ability to make love, it is worth the trip to see your hormone physician and get treated.

Talking to your Doctor about Impotence. When you meet with your hormone physician, discuss all the treatment options for testosterone replacement including pills, patches, injections, pellets, gums, creams and gels. Also discuss possible side-effects and any risks associated with testosterone replacement. There are men who have or had breast or prostrate cancer, sleep apnea, high red blood cell counts, or congestive heart failure and the physician may not prescribe testosterone replacement therapy in these cases.

Low Testosterone and Erectile Dysfunction are common hormonal conditions in aging men. Low levels of testosterone affect a man’s professional and romantic relationships, sex drive, muscles, weight, bones, attitude and mood.

Testosterone Injections are the most effective Testosterone Therapy because they have numerous advantages over testosterone creams, testosterone gels and testosterone dermal patches. One of the biggest advantages is that the testosterone hormone is delivered directly into the bloodstream where it goes to work immediately. Most men report a difference almost right away when starting a testosterone replacement program using testosterone injections.

Low T injections injected either weekly, bi-weekly or monthly are most beneficial for men suffering from low t symptoms and subsequent health problems. Fill out the Quick Info Form to get more testosterone treatment information and pricing.

At the Testosterone Rejuvenation Clinic you can get Testosterone Replacement Therapy. We offer the highest quality testosterone injections including cypionate, enanthate and propionate from top hormone producers Pfizer (Depo-Testosterone), Sandoz, Watson and Paddock. These Low T hormone medications are safe and highly effective, and most importantly produce immediate results. Testosterone injections are intramuscular injections as opposed to subcutaneous like HGH injections. When taking Testosterone shots, the hormone is injected directly into your blood stream where the drug starts to take full effect.

Testosterone shots or injections can help elevate your Testosterone levels almost immediately making testosterone injections the most preferred method of testosterone replacement among men who need to significantly increase their low testosterone levels.

For those men who want to try something other than hormone shots, The Testosterone Rejuvenation Center also prescribes testosterone gels and creams that are a fairly new form of male hormone treatment used to raise levels of testosterone levels in men suffering from low testosterone levels. Testosterone gels provide balanced testosterone levels to the body via skin. Due to its ease in use and minimal skin irritation, testosterone gel is now another option for men undergoing testosterone therapy who prefer a topical solution over a hormone injection. Some men find that testosterone gels don't provide enough of a testosterone boost, are concerned about transfer to a family member or lover, or find that gels and creams don't absorb well into their skin.

If you decide to try a topical Testosterone Medication for Testosterone Replacement Therapy, you can buy Testosterone Androgel® that is one of the better ways to treat testosterone problems. Androgel® is can be an effective way to increase testosterone levels. Androgel Testosterone is a clear, colorless and hydro alcoholic gel containing 1% testosterone.
